Connecting with Resources: Links to Immunization Websites

Immunize LA Kids has compiled the following list of weblinks to connect parents, medical providers, public health officials, community-based organizations, and concerned community member, with immunization information and recommendations.

Immunization Coalitions

  • California Coalition for Childhood Immunization (C3I). C3I,a non-profit organization, is a public/private partnership of leaders from various statewide organizations that are working together for improved levels of childhood immunization. C3I is dedicated to achieving and maintaining full immunization protection for all Californians to prevent disease, disability, and death.

  • California Adult Immunization Coalition.The mission of CAIC is to build and support cross- sector (medicine, public health, community) collaboration that results in improved adult immunization rates, particularly for high risk adults and of those with limited access to preventive care.

  • Immunization Action Coalition.The Immunization Action Coalition works to increase immunization rates and prevent disease by creating and distributing educational materials for health professionals and the public that enhance the delivery of safe and effective immunization services.

Immunization Resources for Parents and Providers

  • Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). The ACIP develops written recommendations for the routine administration of vaccines, along with schedules regarding the appropriate timing, dosage, & contraindications.

  • California Department of Public Health - Immunization Branch. The Immunization Branch of the California Department of Public Health provides leadership and support to public and private sector efforts to protect the population against vaccine-preventable diseases.

  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC works to obtain maximum immunization coverage in all populations, establish partnerships, conduct scientific immunization research, implement immunization systems, and ensure vaccine safety.

  • Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's Vaccine Education Center. The Center provides up-to-date and reliable information about vaccines to parents and healthcare professionals. Resources include videos, informational tear sheets, and information on vaccines that explain how vaccines work, how they are made, who recommends vaccines, when they should be given, and their safety.

  • County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health Immunization Program. The mission of the Los Angeles County Immunization Program is to improve immunization coverage levels and prevent the occurrence of vaccine-preventable diseases. The Program also manages the Immunization Coalition of Los Angeles County.

  • Every Child by Two (ECBT) . ECBT’s mission is to protect all children from vaccine preventable diseases by raising parental awareness about the need for immunizations, improving systems for vaccinating children, and providing convenient access to immunizations.

  • Guide to Community Preventive Services. The Community Guide site includes recommendations regarding evidence-based interventions for improving coverage for recommended vaccines for children, adolescents, and adults. Recommendations focus on three strategic areas: increasing community demand for vaccinations, enhancing access to vaccination services, and provider- or system-based interventions.

  • National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID). NFID is dedicated to educating the public and healthcare professionals about the causes, treatment and prevention of infectious diseases.

  • National Network for Immunization Information (NNii).NNii provides up-to-date, science-based immunization information to healthcare professionals, the media, and the public.
